Gophers Choke Away Tournament Bid

Well, I was certainly heartbroken that the Gophers choked away the game today against Michigan. After having such confidence and command in the first half and nearly the first 10 minutes of the second half, Minnesota gave up an easy chance to lock-up a bid for the NCAA tournament.

After dropping their second game against Michigan this year, there is no reason to believe that Minnesota will be tournament bound.

Minnesota is young and immature. They don't have a leader. They don't have a pure scorer. They don't have any experience. And with Tubby staring down our young and vulnerable guys -- they crumble.

I'm not sure I'm too shocked that Minnesota will miss the Big Dance after starting the season something like 15-0. I mean, as a fan of any University of Minnesota sport, you can be sure they'll play a shitty non-conference schedule and stack up a really sexy looking record. Then they'll get into real competition and they'll think they are on par with their opponents, but they'll quickly realize that the Big Ten is BCS conference and we get whooped up on.

At the end of the day, I kinda figured that Minnesota would be missing out on the dance -- but it's just too bad for Tubby. How long until he's gone?

  1. More room for teams like New Mexico... Tony Dandridge is nasty. Sweet 16.

Matt Howard and Butler could and should make a splash.
I'm taking New Mexico at +400 to win the Mountain West. Also taking Butler -6 tomorrow night to win the Horizon.
